My name is Christopher Neill. I’m a British psychologist and I’ve lived and worked in Madrid for the past 22 years. I have a master’s degree in the psychology of emotions, and I am especially interested in stress, burnout and emotional regulation.
Alarmingly the UK Teacher’s Charity, Education Support report that eight in ten teachers suffer high levels of work-related stress and the negative impact this has on their overall mental health. 76% of British teachers experience behavioral, psychological, or physical symptoms caused by their work, with 47% of teachers experiencing clinical depression, anxiety, or panic attacks caused by work. (Teacher Wellbeing Index)
Although mainly aimed at teachers, this course can help anyone who is suffering from stress and burnout. It’s main aim is to outline how prolonged chronic stress has a toxic, detrimental effect on our bodies and how this can lead to burnout.
It involves five lessons that look at the causes of both stress and burnout. In the last part of the course, you learn how to manage your emotions and will find loads of tips and exercises to help you manage stress and prevent burnout.
Armed with your newfound knowledge, you will be back on track to rekindle the passion you once had for this great profession!
